A Rice factory, with the capacity to produce 12-tonnes of rice daily is been constructed by the Lagos State Government at Imota, in Ikorodu Local Government.
As part of activities marking the world’s Glaucoma Day, the Lagos State Government through the state ministry of health has disclosed that about 322, 251 Lagos residents have benefited from the blindness prevention programme of the government, including free community eye screening, school eye screening, free distribution of glasses, free medication and free eye surgeries.
The effort of the Lagos State Government on waste recycling and the turning of waste to wealth have been recognized by the Federal Government with an efficiency award presented to the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).
The award, which was in recognition of the agency’s efficiency in resource management, particularly in the area of waste recycling, was received the Managing Director of LAWMA, Mr. Ola Oresanya.
The provision of portable water to Lagosians is one of the cardinal programmes of the Babatunde Fashola led government of Lagos State, and the government is leaving no stoned unturned to ensure that this come to light.
